Our Favorite Soldier by May Flaum

May Flaum here today to share a layout I made with the June JBS Mercantile Kit. Oh how I love the stars stencil, splatter stamp, and exclusives! I decided it was the perfect kit to pull out some very special photos and get scrapbooking.

The design I used here is one of my favorites because it lets me add memorabilia and details without overwhelming my photos. I just love the mix of old and new, bright and neutral and how everything came together on this layout.

Digi Friday: Two New Products and One HUGE Sale!!!

Hi all!

If you haven't heard JessicaSprague.com is celebrating their 6th Birthday, which means that there is a big sale going on and everything in the JBS Digital Shoppe is 40% off!!!

Included in the big sale are Jenni's two latest digi releases, one of my all-time favorite JBS collections, Wren  AND the ever-popular Vintage Number Cards.

Let's take a look at how our wonderful digital CT was inspired to use the new releases in their pages.

Van Nguyen has created this beautifully layered page using several of the patterned papers from the Wren Collection.  Can you see the Washi Tape on her layout!  That's a new addition to the Wren kit!

Don't you just love the artsy look of this page by Audrey Tan?!  The addition of the brushwork and transfers on the bookprint background give her page a real art journaling type of feel.

Chiara Castelluccia showcases this beautiful photo by playing up the blues in it with her patterned paper choices from the Wren Collection.  And the repetition of the bird motif throughout the page is just perfect for her page subject!

Roelien van den Berg's beautiful hybrid page really showcases the depth of this collection, as she brings the papers, borders, journal cards and labels together perfectly in her design.

Chrissy Guido used this Vintage Number Card to support her story while adding visual interest, in this great milestone page.

And here I've used the Wren Collection to create a masculine feel for this page about one of America's (and my 5 year old son's) favorite pastimes, baseball.  I've tucked a few Vintage Number Cards in behind my photo to denote the year and substituted my customary stitching for the new washi tape strips included with the collection--I love how real it looks!!!

Don't forget to hop on over to the JBS Digital Shoppe and grab these new releases and any other JBS items from your "digi wishlist" while they're 40% off.

Have a great weekend!

Another Elle's Studio and JBS project..

Hi everyone, it's Gina here sharing another Elle's Studio and Jenni Bowlin collaboration layout today. I really enjoyed using the Elle's Studio 'Cameron' line, and found that the fun, bright colors are suited to girls layouts too! And after seeing all the DT/Ambassador creations this week I'm sure you would agree that this line also combines beautifully with a range of JBS products.

I've used Modern Mercantile 'Novelties' paper for the background and added some gesso then spray inks to stencil through a section of stars from the Digital Backdrops 1 file. I've cut some of the left-over  misted stars out placed them around the page. These stars compliment the cute Elle's Studio star stamps too! A new JBS fave for me is this gorgeous delicate decorative brad

I've cut a 12" strip from the kraft die cut paper and added a few different Elle's Studio papers behind. I've also used some cute Tidbits and a Tiny Tag..

Further layers have been added using JBS paper tape, stickers and a green vintage button

Thanks for stopping by!

Plenty more JBS and Elle's Studio to come...

It's Natalie here with you today. We've had so much fun over the last week of our partnership with JBS and Elle's Studio that we've decided to extend the celebrations a bit longer. Hurrah! I know I personally couldn't get enough of working with all these fabulous products - as this barrage of projects will attest to!!

It was really easy to combine these two lines. Both the Cameron collection from Elle's Studio and our own Modern Mercantile collection have a lot of similar colours in them, whilst being quite different in theme. Cameron is a great line for scrapping boy photos so I couldn't get by without using this cute picture of my nephew.

I love the mix of bright fresh colours with a hint of vintage! On this first layout I introduced even more boy elements by including a JBS Silhouette card and one of the Reader Flatbacks.

My second layout is about the time my husband, my brother and his girlfriend went to a Home Innovation show and met Kevin McCloud (author and the host of Grand Designs) because they're all big fans. Given the theme of the layout I just knew the Blueprint paper from the JBS Wren collection would be a perfect background which gave me a lovely bright base for my layout. So as not to overwhelm the page with lots of other colours I focused on the blue and kraft tags from Elle's Studio.

One of the best things about these Alterable Alphas from JBS is that they take colour so well. I painted a few brushstrokes of red ink onto them to match the red highlights on my layout.

For my third layout I couldn't resist starting with the yellow Elle's Studio paper and then building up lots of the JBS Red Label Strip Stickers under my photo. It gives such a great contrast of colours! I also used the negatives from the sticker-sheet to give the impression of even more layers.

This is another photo of my nephew, but this time a bit more grown-up and meeting his sister for the first time. The JBS Plastic Ribbon was the perfect finishing touch don't you think?

I used the same Plastic Ribbon on this card I made. It reminds me of the store-bought cards that often include a badge or award stuck up in the corner like this. I had so much Elle's Studio goodness left over that I decorated the inside of the card too!

Watch out for even more JBS and Elle's Studio projects to appear on the blog over the next few days. And don't forget to check out the Elle's Studio blog for even more inspiration from their amazing Design Team.

Happy Scrapping!

The Perfect Combination- JBS and Elle's Studio

Hi everyone! Christy Strickler here to share some more JBS and Elle's Studio Inspiration. My son is almost a teenager and I find myself looking back over the days when he was small. I guess you could say that it's a good thing I am not completely caught up with my memory keeping. When I saw the Cameron collection from Elle's Studio, I knew it would be perfect for documenting how my son has grown and changed over the years. I used the chipboard dominoes and vintage lotto cards to compliment the theme of my son's evolution as a video gamer.

It wasn't hard to mix in Jenni Bowlin products with the Elle's Studio kit. The hardest part for me was determining how to use the tags. I love them so much . I just hate to cover up any of the cute designs as I layer parts of my layout.

The answer to my dilemma is easy, but it does take a little getting used to. Simply cut your tags apart. Look for ways to cut the tag  so that you can use it elsewhere. Whether it's a different project or the same layout, cutting the tags allows to you layer without losing any of the awesome designs.

You can also add a little extra pizzazz using your craft knife. Carefully cutting the stars allowed me to slide the photo over the tag without hiding the stars.

Gently cut a slit in the tag and insert a small handmade banner. I layered a flag banner sticker over red paper tape and added some small rhinestone stars. I then carefully slid my banner into the slit.

I had a lot of fun mixing Elle's Studio products with my JBS supplies. So much so, that I made a second layout to share. I just love how the Cameron line pops on the Paraphernalia background.

Did you make a project which mixes your favorite JBS and Elle's Studio projects? If so, don't forget to share them with us here. Today is the last day for you to enter the contest.

Elle's Studio and JBS from Ashley

Hi everyone!
This is Ashley today, with a layout combing the fabulous new line Cameron, from Elle's Studio, and some of my all-time favourite JBS products. I love combining new, clean and crisp looking products with vintage look  items for a playful balance between new and old.  And using Elle's Studio papers and Jenni Bowlin Studio embellishments did this just perfectly!

Here I combined some fabulous Elle's Studio grid paper, yellow striped paper, and a bit of blue along with a cut-off strip for a layered background and garland accent. I used the JBS quilt star punch to make yellow stars and then ran them through my sewing machine for a quick and easy garland. I love the bit of bright that wonderful yellow adds to the page!

I layered Jenni Bowlin Studio grid washi tape, JBS tags, and a 5cent flat back pin together in the area under the photo. I created a fun little flag embellishment by wrapping a stick with some tissue and topping with a JBS star.

I love how happy those little yellow stars are, poking out from behind the photo and JBS scallop tag!

Project Life using JBS and Elle's Studio

Hello everyone it's Jenni Hufford here on the blog today!  I am excited to share a Project Life spread using the Jenni Bowlin Studio's Historian Add On Kit!

This kit is packed with wonderful products-- included lots of Elle's Studio journaling cards!   The travel theme of this kit was perfect considering I was documenting our recent week at Walt Disney World.

In all honesty, I was really intimidated to document this particular week.  I had over 900 photos from our vacation, so choosing just a few was a bit overwhelming!   Knowing that I was going to create a separate album for our trip, I tried to keep in mind the overall goal of my Project Life album, and that was to offer a glimpse into our lives each week.

When choosing the photos, I decided to choose a favorite family photo, a photo of my husband and I, a photo of each of the kids, and also a photo of each child with a character.

I also included part of a park map, a fast pass ticket, and a character autograph.  The "This Week" journaling card by Elle's Studio in the Historian kit was perfect for offering an overview of our entire week!

Don't forget!  We'll be sharing inspiration all week long both here and on the Elle's Studio blog.  Get inspired and then create a layout or other project featuring your favorite Elle's Studio product and your favorite Jenni Bowlin Studio product.  Post your projects HERE on our message board for a chance to win a $25 gift card from JBS Mercantile and then check out the Elle's Studio blog for details on how to win a $25 gift card from them as well!

We can't wait to see your lovely creations!

JBS + Elle's Studio + May Flaum

Today's post featuring JBS and Elle's Studio is from May Flaum!  Adorable!  And be sure to check out the Elle's Studio blog for even more inspiration from your favorite two designers, then get inspired to create!

Hi there everyone! May Flaum here to share a layout mixing the playful Elle's Studio release with Jenni Bowlin products. When I saw the blue and orange stars I knew this paper would be perfect for these photos I had of meeting Chip & Dale at Aulani - but could I mix in my fave Jenni Bowlin products?

The answer is, OF COURSE! What I love about Jenni's products is how timeless they are, and from stars ad bows to buttons and chipboard letters I mixed in favorite accents, and rubbed my beloved speckled egg ink pad on my background as well.

I'm all about texture so another detail I had to add was some white paint on my JBS foam dot stamp. This is one of my favorite things to do just to add a intentionally bit of messy fun.

Hi everyone Amy Kingsford here and I'm so excited to share this fun little ALL BOY mini album I'm working on using the Elle's Studio Cameron Collection and the Naked Chipboard Journal from Jenni Bowlin Studio.

I love getting my hands on a great collection of "boy-inspired" products and I must say I'm a huge fan of the Cameron line's vibrant color scheme and contemporary feel.  It was absolutely perfect for bringing together some of my favorite photos and stories about my three guys!

And this 15-piece journal kit from JBS was the perfect base for my project, as the basic ledger, graph and lined papers mixed perfectly with the patterned papers from Elle's Studio and the tabbed dividers and pocket pages helped me to organize my memories.

I accented the pages of my mini using a variety of JBS staples including coordinating Paint Dabbers, Vintage Sew On Buttons, Alterable Graph Alphas and the True Vintage Milk Caps.

And I've also used several of the tags from Elle's Studio to prompt stories and record fun facts about my guys in my album pages as well.

Don't forget to join in the fun this month by uploading your own projects using a fun mix of JBS and Elle's Studio Products here.  For a chance to win the $25.00 gift card, your entry must be posted by June 24th!

I had a blast taking this challenge and I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
